The Barnes Citizen Building, prominently located in downtown Decatur, is one of the oldest and most historic structures in the city. When asked to develop improvement concepts, Bond Wolfe Architects developed a master plan that detailed historically sensitive renovations to the original 1910 and 1929 Holabird and Root tower and adjacent office building and parking structure. The lobby was returned to its original level of quality; exterior lighting was designed and installed to accent the building's architectural features and the elevator system underwent modernization. The updated infrastructure resulted in a renewed interest from a range of small and mid sized tenants.
