MRH HIGH SCHOOL AUDITORIUM AND MORE
MAPLEWOOD RICHMOND HEIGHTS SCHOOL DISTRICT
RICHMOND HEIGHTS, MISSOURI
The renovation of the auditorium provides Maplewood Richmond Heights High School with a modern, highly functional theater needed for today’s drama education. The new design improves the atmosphere while still restoring and featuring the character of the original design. The existing stage was converted into a thrust stage allowing the performers to engage the audience in a more intimate setting while the new continental seating improves audience views and comfort. Previously nonexistent support spaces— a scene shop, costume shop, green room and dressing room— are now located in a newly captured space, part of an abandoned mechanical area adjacent to the stage.
