Bond Wolfe Auctions, fresh from raising £16.7 million with a success rate of 90% in its first auction, has unveiled a trio of star properties that will go under the hammer on Thursday 9 May at Aston Villa FC.

44 Fitzroy Avenue in Harborne, Birmingham, is situated on one of the most popular roads in the area. It is a substantial four bedroomed family home and has previously been on the market at around £900,000.

The freehold property now requires improvement but Bond Wolfe Auctions consultant director Jonathan Hackett says it has huge development potential, subject to planning permission.

“Harborne is one of the most popular areas of Birmingham but it can still throw up real value-for-money opportunities such as this. The property has a keen *guide price of £500,000-£600,000 and we are experiencing a lot of interest in it.”

Also in Birmingham, 131 Millfield Road in Handsworth Wood, is also in a very popular location. It is a freehold three bedroom detached house set back behind a foregarden and driveway and needs a scheme of improvements throughout. It has a guide price of £120,000-£140,000.

One to catch the eye of commuters into the city, whether that be Birmingham, Coventry or Leicester, is 229 Kenilworth Road in Balsall Common.
Balsall Common is a large village 7.5 miles west of Coventry, eight miles eight of Solihull, 15 miles into Birmingham and 35 miles along the M69 to Leicester.

Jonathan Hackett said: “Again, this is a hugely popular area, a favourite haunt of several Premiership and Championship footballers and 229 Kenilworth Road is another property that needs modernisation, hence the keen guide price of £150,000+.

“It’s a freehold three bedroom semi-detached property that was formerly let on a regulated protected tenancy so has not had much work ever undertaken.

“There is also a parcel of land to the rear of this property that the purchaser may be given the opportunity to acquire after the auction.”
