Traditional values, modern solutions

Do you have a property to sell or let?

A much-loved Worcestershire pub has been saved from uncertainty thanks to a swift pre-auction deal negotiated by Bond Wolfe.

The Bowling Green, located on Shaw Lane just outside Stoke Prior, was scheduled to appear in Bond Wolfe’s March livestreamed auction with a guide price of £450,000+. However, the property was withdrawn from auction following an off-market sale for £510,000 to Cotswold Leisure Ltd.

A Welcome Return for a Local Favourite

George Windsor, Director at Cotswold Leisure Ltd, said:

“We are looking forward to restoring The Bowling Green to its former glory.”

The pub, which closed in September 2024 after 24 years of continuous operation, was formerly owned by Marstons. The sale ensures the building will remain a public house, much to the relief of the local community.

James Mattin, Managing Director – Agency at Bond Wolfe, commented:

“We are delighted to have concluded the pre-auction sale of The Bowling Green.

This is a great result for all involved, particularly given the property’s longstanding history in the area. We’re pleased to see it pass into safe hands with a commitment to retain its use as a pub.”
