Traditional values, modern solutions

Do you have a property to sell or let?

A former Scout Hut in the Black Country, dating back to the early 20th century, is set to appear in Bond Wolfe’s next auction with a guide price* of £25,000+.

The freehold detached building, located on Victoria Road in Darlaston, Walsall, was until recently the home of the 4th Darlaston Scout Troop. Bond Wolfe has been instructed to sell the property on behalf of Walsall Council.

Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe, said:
“This detached, single-storey, brick-built property with a timber roof stands back from the road behind a forecourt.
Inside is a large sports or meeting hall, a kitchen and toilets, with a yard to the rear.
While the building requires refurbishment, it offers scope for alternative uses or redevelopment, subject to planning permission.”

The property lies close to both Darlaston and Victoria Parks, adding to its local appeal. Its architecture suggests it was first constructed in the Edwardian period, likely for commercial purposes, before later being adapted as a Scout Hut.

Historic records indicate that the 4th Darlaston Scout Troop was operating from the building by 1932, although the exact date the Scouts took occupancy remains unclear.

Block viewings of the property will be available, with times and dates published from 21 August.

The former Scout Hut is one of the many opportunities listed in Bond Wolfe’s next live-streamed auction on Thursday 11 September, starting at 8.30am.

The auction will be broadcast via Bond Wolfe’s website, with remote bidding by proxy, telephone or internet.
