Iconic Former Cinema in Lichfield Set for New Lease of Life Following Bond Wolfe Deal
A well-known art deco-style cinema building in the heart of Lichfield is being brought back to life thanks to a major acquisition brokered by Bond Wolfe.
Local entrepreneur and businessman Alex Conti, director of Passeport Ltd, has acquired the freehold of the ground floor commercial element at The Old Picture House on Tamworth Street, as part of a mixed-use development by Lichfield Property Developments Ltd.
The 3,972 sq ft space is being transformed into three high-quality retail units, with plans already underway to welcome a yoga studio, bakery, and general store.
Reviving a Local Landmark
The former cinema has already been converted into 38 luxury apartments, and the sale includes ground rent income from the residential units above.
James Mattin, Managing Director at Bond Wolfe, said:
“We’re proud to have secured a sale on behalf of Lichfield Property Developments for such a landmark local property.
What makes this deal particularly rewarding is that it was acquired by a local buyer who is truly invested in the city’s future.
Interest in the site was significant, which reflects the ongoing appeal of Lichfield’s vibrant city centre. We already have buyers waiting for similar opportunities in and around the area.”
Prime City Centre Location
The Old Picture House sits prominently on Tamworth Street, at its junction with Lombard Street, in the heart of Lichfield’s historic cathedral city centre. The area boasts a strong blend of national and independent retailers, restaurants, and cafés.

The legal side of the transaction was handled by DFA Law for Lichfield Property Developments and Keelys LLP for Passeport Ltd.
