Traditional values, modern solutions

Do you have a property to sell or let?

A substantial plot of vacant land close to Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter is set to appear in Bond Wolfe’s next auction.

The freehold site at Key Hill in Hockley, which is being sold on behalf of Birmingham City Council, will carry a guide price* of £800,000+ in our live-streamed auction on Thursday 26 March.

The site extends to approximately 35,038 sq ft, equating to just over 0.8 acres, and may be suitable for a variety of uses, subject to obtaining the necessary planning permissions.

Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe, said:

“This is a sizeable and well-located parcel of land extending to around 35,000 sq ft, which equates to more than 0.8 acres.

“The site sits just off the roundabout where Icknield Street meets Boulton Middleway, part of Birmingham’s ring road, close to the Hockley Flyover.

“Its location just inside the ring road means the site falls within Birmingham’s Clean Air Zone.

“Importantly, the land lies within easy reach of the Jewellery Quarter and is just a short walk from Jewellery Quarter railway station.”

The nearby Jewellery Quarter is one of Birmingham’s most distinctive and historic districts, home to more than 100 jewellery retailers, diamond and precious metal dealers, and specialist workshops.

The area also features the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter, alongside a number of Georgian buildings and the picturesque St Paul’s Square, centred around the 18th-century St Paul’s Church.

Today, the quarter is known for its mix of heritage architecture, independent retailers, vibrant bars, art galleries and a diverse selection of restaurants.

The Key Hill site will be among scores of lots appearing in Bond Wolfe’s next auction, which is due to start at 8.30am on Thursday 26 March.

The auction will be live-streamed via Bond Wolfe’s website, with remote bidding available by proxy, telephone or internet.
