What do we have here, then? A former community police office in rural Derbyshire is one of the more unusual properties in Bond Wolfe Auctions’ next online, livestreamed auction on Wednesday 17 February.

The vacant, freehold property at 145 Oliver Road in Kirk Hallam village, near Ilkeston, has a floor area of approximately 167 sq ft, and comes with a *guide price of just £10,000+.

The ground floor property has a simple layout which has previously been used as an office, complete with toilet facilities and an off-road parking space.

Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe Auctions, said: “It’s not every day you come across a former police property in an auction, especially one that is so suitable for redevelopment for a number of different purposes, subject to planning permission.”

Another eye-catching lot because of its starting price is a three-bedroomed, mid-terraced house at 5 Wingerworth Terrace in the village of Grassmoor, south west of Chesterfield.

This property stands flush to the pavement with a rear garden and double glazing, but its need for modernisation means it has a tempting guide price of just £25,000+.

More properties at bargain prices include a pair of two-bedroomed, mid-terraced properties in the town of Heanor, in the Amber Valley district of Derbyshire.

One lies behind a small front garden, with a back garden, central heating and double glazing at 60 Ray Street, while the other is flush to the pavement with a back garden, central heating and double-glazing at 6 Weston Street.

However, both lots need renovations, which means they each come with attractive guide prices of £34,000 to £39,000 and £39,000 to £44,000 respectively.

Down in Burton-on Trent, a two bedroomed, mid-terraced house with gardens and double-glazing at 494 Anglesey Road is in the auction with a guide price of £45,000+, which again reflects its need for modernisation.

Also available in Burton is a three-bedroomed, semi-detached house behind a driveway on a corner plot with gardens, central heating and double-glazing at 1 Kent Road, with a guide price of £49,000.

Bidders looking for lots closer to Derby will be interested to see a three-bedroomed, mid-terraced house at 165 Beaufort Street in Chaddesden – a popular residential suburb also known locally as Chadd.

This property has a driveway, gardens, central heating and double-glazing, and comes with an affordable guide price of £49,000+.

Mr Bassi added: “There are a number of lots across Derbyshire that will catch the eyes of bidders because of their highly affordable starting prices.

“While some may need renovations, they could all make perfect homes for growing families, or for a landlord seeking to extend their portfolios in these areas.”
