Traditional values, modern solutions

Do you have a property to sell or let?

Bond Wolfe Commercial has let 15,000 sq ft in West Bromwich to Sandwell College which is gearing up for increased student admissions.

James Mattin, chief executive of Bond Wolfe Commercial, said the letting of two entire floors at West Plaza would enable Sandwell College to continue to expand as the college is at full capacity at its main site in Spon Lane.

“The deal represents a substantial letting for West Bromwich during the pandemic and serves as further evidence that, despite the restrictions on office occupancy levels enforced by the government, there are a number of institutions, as a result, that need to take more space than once anticipated.”

He said the major letting followed Bond Wolfe Commercial’s sale of Transport House in West Bromwich, planned for residential conversion.

“This letting on behalf of landlords Real Estate Investors plc shows that, despite a lot of office space being converted for alternative use, there still remains a steady demand for space in the town.”

Sandwell College is one of the largest further education colleges in the West Midlands Based at the iconic £77 million Central Campus in Spon Lane, it provides education and training for thousands of students in the Black Country and Birmingham.

The majority of full-time students are aged 16-18, studying courses designed to give them skills for the modern workplace, including automotive engineering, beauty therapy, web design etc.

Landlord REI plc was advised by Baldev Kang of law firm CBTC Millichips and Sam Bhachu of Eversheds Sutherland advised Sandwell College.
